BHUBANESWAR: With dengue showing no signs of a let-up, the State Government on Thursday decided to set up control rooms in all the district headquarters hospitals for monitoring the killer fever.    Health Minister Prasanna Acharya also made a  statement in the Assembly on outbreak and measures undertaken by the Government.Earlier, Chief Secretary BK Patnaik interacted with the Collectors and CDMOs of 11 districts via video conferencing to take stock of the situation in the dengue-affected districts and the preventive measures put in place.It was decided that a rapid response team, already deployed in the districts, will be trained to investigate and monitor the preventive and control measures. Besides ASHA, anganwadi and PRI members will be asked to carry out fever surveillance at village levels.The meeting, attended by Secretaries of various administrative departments, directed that all the medical officers be sensitised about dengue case management. Besides, treatment protocols and FAQs about dengue are being uploaded on the website for ready reference.The Chief Secretary directed that Total Sanitation Campaign will be undertaken at village levels as well as in the urban local bodies. A micro plan for the sanitation campaign will be developed by the Collectors and followed on a daily basis. Further, the progress will be monitored weekly for the next two months.Similarly,  Municipality and NAC executive officers will prepare a separate urban plan involving counsellors. The cleanliness drive to eliminate breeding sources will start from schools and government buildings.Even though the Government laid out elaborate measures, more cases poured in from the districts. At least 88 of the 124 blood samples tested for dengue at SCB Medical, Cuttack, VSS Medical, Burla and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, on Thursday were positive.   While SCB reported 64 positive cases, 22 cases came in from VSS Medical College. Of the 88 new cases, Angul reported 26 while Sundargarh and Cuttack reported nine and eight cases respectively. As on Thursday, 822 dengue cases have been found. Of them, Angul has reported 373 cases, followed by Jajpur with 96 and Cuttack with 86 cases. The death roll remained constant at 20 with no new reports coming in.
