New Delhi: Patiala police have busted a gang that sold the eyes of dead people.
According to the police a very renowned charitable hospital of the city as well as many doctors are involved in the racket.
They say that the eyes would be removed by the doctors when the bodies were brought in for post mortem and later sold.
Three people have been arrested in this connection so far.
"Sunil Kumar, a class 4 employee, used to work in the mortuary at Ambala hospital. He used to remove eyes from dead bodies after the post mortem and would supply them," Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police SK Asthana said.
The incident has caused a lot of outrage among the residents of this small town.
