Cops seize 550 kg of explosives

PATHANAMTHITTA: Around 550 kg of explosives were seized by the police from a house at Maduthumpady in Naranganam near Kozhenchery during a raid on Wednesday. The police team led by Kozhencherry CI Zacharia Mathews and Aranmula SI Vineethkumar seized the explosives illegally kept in a house taken on rent by Krishnankutty of Alappuzha.  Krishnankutty, a fireworks contractor, kept the explosives in the house, which was given on rent by Ibrahimkutty who is employed in a Gulf country. Krishnankutty surrendered to the police in the afternoon. Explosive experts, who reached the spot in the afternoon, defused the explosives.
