New Delhi: A 14-year-old schoolgirl suspected to have developed an affair with a boy on Internet was allegedly abducted in the Capital, police said on Thursday.
The Class 9 student of Ryan International School went missing March 5 from outside her Pashim Vihar residence in west Delhi.
According to police, her friends revealed that she was in touch with a boy called Siddharth, whom she had known through Internet chatting. Police retrieved some intimate messages from the girl's computer exchanged with the boy.
Locating the boy, suspected to have kidnapped the girl, was proving difficult as he had not left his address on the Internet, police said, adding that he might have used a fake name to exchange messages with the girl.
"We have registered a case of abduction and investigations are on," Deputy Commissioner of Police (West District) Robin Hibu said.
