New Delhi: In the past few years, actor Manoj Bajpayee has emerged as a strong anti-hero. While he has been part of film like 'Chittagong and 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' where he has played the central character, but his performance as the negative hero in films like 'Rajneeti', 'Satyagraha', and 'Aarakshan' are talked about more.
Even Bajpayee's new film 'Tevar' has him playing a goon from Agra obsessed with the heroine played by Sonakshi Sinha. During his trip to the capital with the 'Tevar' team, we asked him that whether he feels he is repeating himself in every film of his? "No one asks a hero if he is tired of playing a positive character in every film. Why ask me such questions then?" Bajpayee asks back.
"I am an actor and I get the privilege to portray both positive and negative characters. Honestly, I am quite sick of answering this question, now," retorts Bajpayee.
When we point out that how we want to see him playing positive, lead roles, he is quick to remind us "My last film before 'Tevar' was 'Special 26'. I played a positive role in the film. Treat me as an actor who does varied roles in different kind of films. Request you to not put in a bracket."
'Tevar' features Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha along with Bajpayee in the lead. Set in Agra, the film is a remake of Telugu film 'Okkadu' and has been directed by debutant filmmaker Amit Sharma. The film has been produced by Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor.
