BANGALORE: State Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti on Monday said that the state has adequate stock of seeds and fertilisers to meet the kharif season demand.Speaking to reporters here, Katti said that the state has 9.5 lakh quintal seeds as against the demand for 8.3 lakh quintals. “Likewise, the state has stocked eight lakh tonnes of fertilises, which would be sufficient to meet the demand for next three months,” he added.On the rising prices of fertilisers, Katti said that the prices have increased by 199 per cent in one year year while the seed prices have increased by almost 8 to 10 per cent. “We have to blame the policies of the UPA government for this,” Katti added.He added that the strict instruction has been given to all fertiliser dealers and cooperative societies to sell fertilisers at the minimum retail prices fixed by the government. “If anybody is found selling fertilisers more than the MRP then the licence will be cancelled,” the agriculture minister added.
