Shailesh Lodha Expresses His Love For Poetry: ‘Kaavitao Se Badkar Kuch Bhi Nahi’

Shailesh Lodha is an established author and actor. He is well known for his role as Taarak Mehta in the hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. While he has consistently been in for his disagreements with the makers of the show, the actor worked with the team for years and became the audience’ favourite. Moreover, not just his performances on screen but also his books and poetry are much appreciated by followers. Shailesh was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport and engaged in a short conversation about the impact of poetic verses with the paparazzi.

Shailesh Lodha was sighted at Mumbai’s airport as he cordially greeted the photographers stationed there. While the actor walked towards the entrance gate, the paparazzi told him, “Aapka hi video dekh rahe, aapki kavitayen, pankti, dosti par (We were watching videos of your poems on friendship).” The actor first smiled and then replied saying “Kaavitao se badkar kuch bhi nahi (There is nothing bigger than poetry).” Shailesh Lodha was seen wearing a white hoodie T shirt and blue jeans, with a pair of tinted sunglasses to beat the heat.

Shailesh Lodha worked on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah from 2008 until 2022. Reportedly, he left the sitcom in 2022 due to a conflict with the producer, Asit Modi. Some time back, in an interview, Shailesh Lodha stated that he left the show due to Asit Kumar Modi’s conduct. The actor told Lallantop, “I could not tolerate the way he spoke to me. A show is made by many people coming together and not just one person. I thus mailed him on February 17, 2022, that I would not like to continue with the show.” Shailesh further said that even though he continued to shoot for the show, his funds were withheld. He said that the creators even urged him to sign an agreement that he feared would limit his rights, and so he had to quit. He added, “The matter was never about money or payment but about how he spoke in an insulting tone. I had to go to the court and the settlement was done.”

Apart from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shailesh Lodha has been part of popular shows like Comedy Circus, Comedy ka Maha Muqabla.
