BANGALORE: A free eye screening camp for Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) employees was conducted at their office by BBMP Naukara Kendriya Sangha in association with Dr Solanki's Eye hospital on Tuesday.
The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Mayor S Harish. The employees were screened for diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive retinopathy through a fundus camera made for retinal examination.

Dr Narpat Solanki, Chairman, Dr Solanki's Eye Hospital said,"People generally are unaware of the kind of eye problems they face and they do not have the time to visit a specialist. Camps like these are meant for creating more awareness among the people".

Besides conducting a basic eye check up along with glaucoma and diabetes tests, the employees were also provided prescriptions.

However, buying spectacles and eye medicines is an expensive affair for these employees.
