Hyderabad: As the high profile Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) ended after three days, the US Secret Service lauded the efforts of Telangana Police for managing the security arrangements of hundreds of VIP guests and dignitaries from across the world.
The Telangana Police was appreciated not just by the US agency, but also the Union Home Ministry, Niti Aayog and delegates from abroad, who attended the event.
It was a tough task to look after the security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Advisor to US President, Ivanka Trump, former UK PM’s wife Cherry Blair and delegates from 150 countries, all at the same time.
The police had successfully managed to keep Ivanka’s movements a secret, owing to the security threats. The US Secret Service would share the details of her movement with the local police at the last moment and they made arrangements accordingly.
Following the guidelines of the US agency, the police had prepared for two simultaneous plans. Like earlier it was said that Ivanka Trump would be flying in a special jet, whereas she had taken a regular passenger flight. It was said that she will stay at the Westin, while she actually stayed at the Trident. Her entire Golconda Fort visit was kept a secret. The entire police force was on its toes and took swift steps to go by the last minute changes in the programme.
The Centre, too, appreciated the efforts put in by Hyderabad Police in managing big events like the GES, Metro Rail inauguration and eight other programmes across Hyderabad, along with providing security to the VVIPs.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed happiness and satisfaction over the success of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit and inauguration of the Hyderabad Metro Rail on the same day.
KCR said, "After the success of GES, the prestige of Hyderabad has grown across the world."
“The Police department organised the events without a hiccup and the slightest of discomfort to the visiting dignitaries,” he added.
