New Delhi: The Inspector General of Goa Police, Kishan Kumar, says the focus of the investigation will be on how teenager Scarlette Keeling and the two accused in her rape and murder case got drugs

According to the police, Scarlette was given cocaine and ecstasy by Placido Carvalho.

He is a suspected drug peddler and the main accused in the Scarlette rape and murder case.

Samson D'Souza, a local bartender, is alleged to have raped her after Carvalho drugged her.

Carvalho was arrested on Wednesday night and has been sent to police custody for 14 days. He was arrested nearly 48 hours after the 29-year-old bartender D'Souza was arrested.

D'Souza was arrested after a 'witness' was reported by the British media as having seen him with Scarlette hours before her body was found.

D'Souza has confessed to the crime and both have been charged with murder.

But Scarlette's mother, Fiona Mackeown, is still unconvinced and calls it another cover up, even claiming that she had been offered money to withdraw the case

.

Scarlette was found dead on Goa's popular Anjuna beach on February 18.
