Pune: If you feel that you have the talent to act but don't have a Miss India title or a godfather backing you, opportunity is knocking literally at your doorstep.
This August, the alumni of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune is introducing an 'Acting Academy on Wheels'.
Conceptualised by actor Paintal and producer-director Ravi Rai, this crash course in acting will be held at local halls in various cities reaching out to the aspirants who can't afford to move out of their own town.
"Kayee problems ho sakti hain; paise na hon, maa baap kee tbaeeyat theek na hon; so students can't come here. But now we will go to them and teach them acting so that they can learn the basics" (There may be many problems, like shortage of money, illness of parents. So students can't come here. But now we will go to them and teach them acting so that they can learn the basics.) said Director of FTII Acting Course Department Paintal.
'Acting Academy on Wheels' starts rolling from Dehradun this August before moving on to Gurgaon, Noida, Gaziabad and Faridabad.
The five-week-long course will cover exercises like improvisation, spot mimicry and revising monologues. And all of these for just Rs 21,000.
The mobile academy has the likes of Tom Alter, Raza Murad, Adil Aman and Benjamin Gilani on board.
After successfully reviving the acting course at the film and television institute, the alumni here is hoping a smooth ride for the acting course on wheels.
If this venture proves to be a hit in India it will go all the way to the United States and Canada as well.
