The hosts could have shot ahead three minutes before the final hooter but Jackson Ashley's penalty stroke was superbly saved by Magicians' goalkeeper Harte David, who also brought off a couple of extra-ordinary saves during the match.
After the match, Mumbai coach MK Kaushik said: "The guys played well. A little more effort, and we would have won the match."
