BANGALORE: Judges are advising junior advocates in the High Court to be prepared thoroughly about the cases before they come for arguments and submit relevant documents in the case.During a case hearing at Justice H G Ramesh’s hall, a junior advocate appearing for the petitioner had not filed a sale deed. Angered by this act, Justice Ramesh came down heavily on the junior advocate and said, “You come to the court without studying. I am not going to entertain this and it is great injustice you are doing to the appellants, if you say 2+2=22. I am not going to believe that. I won’t expect this kind of response from you. If you can’t argue, just give to someone else to argue, but don’t do injustice to the parties.”Judges also advise junior advocates not to seek adjournment. The judges have further pasted posters in the court which contain the message “All young advocates can become legal experts if they learn from law books, seniors, experience and self thinking.” There is another notice which reads “Learned members of the Bar are requested to attend the court after reading their case papers in full.” Apparently, these notices have been put up at the insistence of the judges. Judges also encourage the junior advocates to argue the cases instead of seeking adjournments due to the absence of their seniors.
