BANGALORE: The Kamakshipalya police arrested Srinivasa Naidu, the owner of Sree Lakshmi Venkateshwara Convention Hall, where an explosion due to LPG gas leakage took place resulting in collapse of three-storey building claiming two lives and injuring 12 others on Wednesday.Naidu was absconding after the incident and he had taken shelter at Aarani village in Thiruvanamalai district of Tamil Nadu.A team of police arrested him on Friday and brought him to the city.He has been booked under explosives act and other sections of the IPC, the police said.Meanwhile, the police have traced the identity of the person whose body was found under the debris of collapsed building on Wednesday night.The victim is identified as Subramani (30), a native of Shimoga.He was working as a supervisor at the chemical unit that was functioning in the ground floor of the threestorey building.He was residing in the same building with his wife.In the meantime, forensic experts visited the spot on Friday evening and have collected samples from the scene of incident.They have observed that the first blast occurred due to leakage of LPG gas from the convention hall.As the fire spread to chemical unit, where organic solvents like acetone, hydronic peroxide were kept, the second blast took place resulting in collapse of the building.However, they are yet to submit a report to the police.
