KOCHI: The Maharaja’s College Alumni Association, one of the biggest alumni associations in the world as it comprises nearly 1.5 lakh members, is all set to organise a get-together ‘Maharajakeeyam 2012’ on February 11. A souvenir titled ‘Maharajakeeyam’ will be released on the occasion.The college will be open to former students from 9 am to 6 pm. The members will be welcomed with ‘payasam’ prepared under the aegis of the association on the campus to awaken their sweet memories of the college. Each classroom will await students from 1932 batch onwards.Five venues will be arranged to accommodate different batches. The batches from 1932 to 1950 will assemble at the Malayalam Hall, 1951 to 1970 batches at the History Block, 1971 to 1984 batches at the Physics Gallery and batches from 1999 to 2010 at the auditorium.  After exchanging pleasantries and news they can stage entertainment programmes.After the separate get-together, all the old students will assemble at the special venue in the courtyard.Defence Minister A K Antony, NORKA Minister Vayalar Ravi, former Minister K R Gowriamma, V Vishwanatha Menon, Thomas Isaac, Binoy Viswam, P T Thomas MP, T A Ahmed Kabeer MLA, CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan, LDF convener Vaikkom Vishwan, Infosys chairman Salim Kumar, journalists T V R Shenoy, K M Roy, Venu Rajamony,  Dr V P Gangadharan and Metropolitan Rev Joseph Mar Gregorius are expected to participate. A get-together of the talents in the field of drama, cinema, mimimcry and music is being planned.  Actors including Mammootty, Dilip, Salim Kumar, Rajeev Ravi, Amal Neerad, K S Prasad, Adam Ayub, Aneesh Abu, Jyotirmayi, Ramesh Kurumsseri, Sajan Palluruthy, Baburaj, Ansar Kalabhavan, Biju Narayanan, Sathyan Kulangad, Shibu Chakravarthy, Siddique, Tini Tom, Sarayu Mohan are also expected.Stalwarts in literature such as O N V Kurup, Prof M K Sanu, Prof M Leelavathy, Prof K G Sankara Pillai, Prof M Achuthan, Prof M Thomas Mathew, S Ramesan, R K Damodaran, Sunil P Ilayidam, Harikumar Changampuzha among others are also expected. An orchestra will be led by Biju Narayanan  and other old students. At 6 pm the bell will go to mark the end of the programme.
