THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major shakeup in the top echelons of  the state police, Venugopal K Nair, who was promoted to the rank of  DGP last week, a few AGDPs and range IGs as well as half a dozen SPs were relocated on Thursday.Venugopal K Nair has been appointed as Director of Vigilance department. Transport Commissioner   T P Senkumar and Intelligence Chief A Hemachandran, both ADGPs, have  been mutually transferred. ADGP Mahesh Kumar Singla will top the administration wing of  the Police Headquarters here. R Sreelekha, who was promoted as ADGP recently, will head the Armed Police Battalions and will also be in charge of training.K Padmakumar has been posted as Ernakulam Range IG. Sheik Darbesh Sahib will take over as the Thiruvanthapuram Range IG. Headquarters administration wing IG K Gopinath has been transferred to the Thrissur Range. Manoj Abraham, who was promoted as IG recently, will reach the Police  Headquarters, leaving the Commissioner’s office.T J Jose has been moved from Kollam to Thiruvananthapuram city as Commissioner of Police. Gopesh Agarwal will be the new Kollam Commissioner. The post of Crime Branch IG, which was lying vacant for quite some time, will find B Sandhya in the saddle. Harshitha Attalloori will become the Director of  the  Police Academy.A J Thomas Kutty will be the SP of Thiruvananthapuram Rural while K B Balachandran, K P Philip and P H Ashraf will head the force in the Kollam, Ernakulam and Thrissur rural districts respectively. T K Rajmohan, back in the state after a stint in the NIA, will be   SP, Kozhikode Rural. A V George will be the new Wayanad SP.  In  Thiruvananthapuram city, V C Mohanan has been posted as Deputy Commissioner. Jaspal Meena, current incumbent, will be SP, Marine Enforcement.
