BANGALORE: Our hair is one of the most noticeable parts of our looks. Every woman, no matter what the age, desires lustrous hair that sways when the wind blows. Well, sadly, that happens only in movies. In reality not all women are blessed with beautiful hair. Hence we try all sorts of things like straightening, perming, stylish hair cuts or colouring in a bid to look beautiful and get noticed. Colouring one’s hair is one of the easiest way to change one’s look, but most Indian women seldom try this option of getting noticed.Popular international haircare brand Wella has launched a campaign called ‘Get Noticed’ which offers women a chance to exchange their used hair colours with a brand new Wella Kolestint hair colour. After having launched the campaign in Mumbai, the brand chose Bangalore as its next stop. The city leg of the nationwide campaign was held at Garuda Mall last weekend. Supporting the campaign in Bangalore was one of the leading ladies of the Kannada film industry — Aindrita Ray. “Indian women are very scared to experiment with their looks. It’s time we come out of the shell and try something new,” she said.A little stage was set in the centre of the mall where women could come and throw away their old/used hair colour packs and the actress would help them choose a colour for their mane. Women were allowed to come up and ask any queries about the product and hair care tips. During the interaction, the Sandalwood beauty spelled out the secret to her luscious locks, which comprise a hair spa once a month and oil massages. “I don’t do much to my hair. I try to keep it as natural as possible. I do not follow any particular diet but I do drink plenty of water,” she said.According to the actress, maintaining a healthy diet and good physique play key roles in having healthy hair. “It is very important to eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Most importantly drink plenty of water. It keeps your body hydrated and flushes out all the toxins,” Aindrita said. She added, “I do not have any particular workout regime, but I have become more conscious of my health now and have joined power yoga classes. Yoga is not only good for the body but it’s good for the mind and the soul. Yoga keeps me energised throughout the day.”When asked about her favoured choice of shades for Indian women, the actress replied, “Dark hair colours like shades of brown, burgundy and black suit the Indian skin tone.”
