BHUBANESWAR:  A marginal dip in the success rate marked the results of the Plus Two Examination, 2012, as premier colleges of the State began to lose their dominance giving way to institutions from towns and small centres spread across the State.Though the three toppers were from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack - two from BJB Junior College and Ravenshaw Junior College - the Top-10 list was crowded by students from smaller areas. The results were announced by Higher Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra and Secretary CS Kumar here on Wednesday. And, it was girls again who bagged the top positions. Soumya Sandipa of BJB Junior College, Bhubaneswar, topped the Science stream by scoring 560 marks in the aggregate, while Debasmita Sarangi of  Ravenshaw Junior College secured 521 to bag the top honour in Arts stream. It was Priyabrata Barik of Kalinga Bharati Residential College of Cuttack, a private college, who emerged topper in the Commerce stream, scoring 562 marks. The pass percentage among boys was 67.64 whereas the girls completely outshone them with a success rate of 74.19 pc.The Science stream’s pass percentage stood at 72.53, indicating a marginal drop from 73.48 pc last year.
