New Delhi: With BJP sweeping the MCD polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has lost in areas that were considered its strongholds.
AAP has lost three of the four wards in the constituency of Delhi’s deputy CM Manish Sisodisa.
Of the 272 wards in three MCDs, the BJP won 184 councillor seats, AAP 46, Congress 30, and Independents 6 after the results were declared on Wednesday.
The voting for three MCD took place on Monday.
Senior AAP leaders and MLAs Satyendra Jain and Somnath Bharti, who have three wards each in their constituencies, failed to impress on the voters leading to loss of AAP candidates.
Similarly, AAP candidates had to bite the dust in the constituencies of their MLAs like Gopal Rai, Alka Lamba, Kapil Mishra.
Of the four wards, AAP won one seat in the constituency of deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
