Viako's MDMK has finally broken ties with the UPA. The party has withdrawn support from the alliance government at the centre. CBI accused of suppressing information on Quttarochi case

The Supreme Court has adjourned for four weeks the hearing of contempt petition against CBI top brass Ottavio Quattarochi’s extradition case. The petition was filed accusing the CBI of deliberately suppressing the information of Quttarochi's detention in Argentina recently. The government has however informed the court that Quattrochi's extradition application is coming up for hearing in Argentina later this month.
