Facebook India had petitioned for its name to be dropped from a civil suit filed against certain websites.
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed a plea by Facebook India to drop its name from a civil suit filed against certain websites for hosting "objectionable content". The internet company argued that its India office merely provided technical support to the parent company, based in US, and did not host any content.
The court, however, said that prima facie there was enough evidence to implicate Facebook in the case.
The next hearing in the case is on June 4.
