New Delhi: The Indo-Czech doubles pair of Leander Paes and Martin Damm stormed into the final of the Qatar Open in Doha by beating Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Canadian Daniel Nestor on Friday.

Paes and Damm refused to let the game go away as they sealed a marathon third set against their name 10-8 to make their way into the final. The duo won the first set 7-5 but lost the second in tie-breaks.

The diminutive Paes and Damm take on the pair of Russian Mikhail Youzhny and Serbian Nenad Zimonjic, the latter once a partner of Leander himself. The Russian-Serbian combine went through to the final with a straight set win over brothers Andy and Jamie Murray of England.

Paes and Damm proved their mettle after forming an alliance when they triumphed at the US Open in 2006, and snared one more on tour.
