A minor girl received multiple injuries in mortar shelling reported from the Pakistani side on Friday morning along the Line-of-Control (LoC) in Sunderbani and Noushera in Jammu and Kashmir.
"One girl is injured in overnight ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along International Border in Kathua and Jammu districts," BSF sources said.
"There are reports that few posts of Pakistani forces were badly damaged. None of our jawans were killed or injured. Security has been beefed up in the entire bordering areas," he said.
Sunderbani and Noushera sectors came under heavy firing since morning and jawans gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani rangers.
Similar, unprovoked heavy firing and shelling of 120 mm and 82 mm mortars were also reported in Hiranagar and Samba sectors on Thursday evening and continued till Friday morning.
The Pakistani rangers also targeted RS Pura, Akhnoor and Poonch sectors.
Manish Mehta, Defence PRO, said, "We are hitting back hard. We do not have any casualties on our side and none of our troops have been injured."

Meanwhile, two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were arrested on Thursday in Baramulla district.

They were arrested in a joint search operation by 46 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG).
An AK-47, a pistol with ammunition, Under Barrel Grenade Launcher, UBGL grenades, pouches, were seized from them.
