PGCIL aims to recruit 150 candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer Trainee (E1) from Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science disciplines via their GATE 2017 score.

PGCIL Recruitment 2018 for Assistant Engineer Trainees (E1) will begin on 27th January 2018 on the official website of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) - powergridindia.com. PGCIL aims to recruit 150 candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer Trainee (E1) from Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science disciplines via their GATE 2017 score. The selected candidates will go through a training period of 1 year and upon successful completion will be absorbed as Assistant Engineers. Interested and eligible candidates must apply on or before 17th February 2018.

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Electrical) – 100

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Electronics) – 20

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Civil) – 20

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Computer Science) – 10

Total Vacancies - 150

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must possess a valid and corresponding GATE 2017 Score viz:

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Electrical) – EE GATE 2017 Paper

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Electronics) – EC GATE 2017 Paper

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Civil) – CE GATE 2017 Paper

Assistant Engineer Trainee (Computer Science) – CS GATE 2017 Paper

Educational Qualification:

The applicant must possess a full-time relevant degree in BE/BTech/ BSc (Engg.) from a recognized University or Institute with minimum 65% or equivalent CGPA.

Age Limit:

The applicant must be below 28 years as on 31st December 2016, age-relaxation rules apply.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their GATE 2017 Score, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The selection list will be made on the basis of the following weightage:

GATE 2017 Marks (Out of 100) – 85%

GD – 3%

Personal Interview – 12%

Pay Scale & CTC

The selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹24,500/- during the 1-year training period. Post which, the pay scale will be revised to ₹20,600/- to ₹46,500/- with a yearly CTC being ₹12.8 LPA.
