PUDUCHERRY: CBI sleuths again conducted inquiries at the residence of Puducherry Collector and Director of Project Implementation Agency (PIA) of Tsunami G Ragesh Chandra on Friday, in connection with alleged irregularities in the construction of houses for tsunami-affected people at Kalapet.Ragesh Chandra was reportedly interrogated by a five-member team that was in his house for more than an hour. The team also examined some documents. They followed up on their inquiry at the PIA office and the construction site at Kalapet in the presence of Ragesh Chandra. Sources said the CBI had questioned the collector and conducted searches at his residence here on August 2 based on a complaint from a non-governmental organisation regarding irregularities in implementing the project and violation of tender rules in the construction of hundreds of houses for the tsunami victims.The CBI had conducted a raid at the house of Chandra on Monday-Tuesday night, after registering an FIR. It had also raided the Hyderabad office of IVRLC, the agency which had constructed the houses for tsunami victims.
