Roddick gets a bye, Blake, Murray fight to move ahead
James Blake's second round match lasted three hours and 25 minutes.

New Delhi: Argentina's Jose Acasuso won the first set 6-4 against Andy Roddick of the US but had to withdraw midway due to a knee injury. Roddick is now in the third round of the US Open.

But UK's Andy Murray had no such luck and had to fight his way into the enxt round.

Murray was taken to five sets in a three hour 45 minute marathon before the No. 19 seed emerged a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 winner against Jonas Bjorkman. Murray will face Lee Hyung-taik of South Korea for a spot in the fourth round.

"You know, obviously you don't want to play too many five setters in a Slam early on. In terms of the position I've been in, having hardly played for the last five months, you know, to play a match like that and come through it is great for your confidence," Murray said after his match.

In the other match Nikolay Davydenko faced Nicolas Kiefer on Louis Armstrong Stadium and made light work of his German opponent. Davydenko advanced to face Spain's Nicolas Almagro in the third round with a 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 victory.

American James Blake was made to work hard for his place in the third round by Fabrice Santoro. But the American advanced after a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory in a match that lasted three hours and 25 minutes.
