Sakala: 118 new services from October 1

As many as 118 new services under the state government’s flagship programme Sakala scheme will be formally launched on a pilot basis on October 1 in four taluks namely Aurad (Bidar), Puttur (Dakshina Kannada), Dharwad (Dharwad) and Chitradurga (Chitradurga).

The same would be extended across the state from November.

Sakala was launched to deliver government services to citizens within stipulated time. Under the scheme if the concerned officer employee fails to deliver the service within the stipulated time, a fine of Rs 20 will be imposed per day.

 The fine amount to be paid will be a maximum of Rs 500, which will be deducted from employee’s salary and paid to the applicant as compensation.
