New Delhi: Further enriching its Galaxy line of smartphone offerings in the world's fastest growing mobile market, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Note in India.
The Galaxy Note smartphone has been positioned as a smartphone-tablet combo and its 5.29-inch display is the largest in the smartphone segment.
Priced at Rs 34,990, the Galaxy Note is a 4G LTE device, but the India release makes no mention of its 4G capabilities as the network isn't yet available in India. The phone has an HD Super AMOLED screen.
The device comes with an S Pen, a new age avatar of the stylus. The S Pen (that stands for Smart Pen) offers additional features that a normal stylus does not have. The S Pen has the ability to tap and hold to capture an instant screenshot, which can then be opened in an image editor. With the S Pen, users can easily sketch drawings, write task notes, circle elements, sign documents and much more.
The Galaxy Note runs on Google's Android 2.3 operating system, and sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2 megapixel front camera.
Powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor, the phone offers 1080p full HD video recording and playback. Weighing 178g, it has an internal memory of 16GB, which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card.
