HYDERABAD: In a step that would delay the process of recruitment of sub-inspector rank officers and station fire officers, the preliminary selection tests have been postponed for nearly four months in view of the summer season. The selection test for five and 2.5 km runs for recruitment to SI posts in civil, Armed Reserve, State Armed Reserve City Police Limited, AP Special Police and Special Protection Force and SFOs in fire and emergency services department would now be held July 9. The tests were scheduled for March 12.According to sources, the selection tests were put off for four months after representations from SI aspirants who expressed displeasure over the conduct of tests in the peak of summer. With heat wave making its impact in the first week of March itself, aspirants wanted the running test to be conducted after the summer subsides.Conducting the run in summer might draw flak from aspirants, officials said. The State Level Police Recruitment Board asked the candidates to contact the concerned range office for preliminary selection test date.
