Islamabad: A blast ripped through a preaching centre Monday in northwest Pakistan, injuring at least six people, police said. The explosion took place around 6 am in Charsadda city, 40 km northeast of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Xinhua reported citing Urdu TV channel Samaa.

Police said the bomb was home-made. It was not known how many people were inside the centre when the explosion took place.

Several cars in a showroom adjacent to the centre were damaged.

In May, a suicide bomb attack at a border police training centre in the city left at least 98 people dead and over 140 injured.
