CHENNAI/KARAIKUDI: A six-member security team from Delhi arrived in the city on Friday for advance security liaison ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s two-day visit to the state from December 25, police said. The team visited the airport, Raj Bhavan and Madras University centenary building, where the PM will attend a function after which he would fly to Karaikudi, police sources said.A three-tier security cover will be in force in Karaikudi on December 26, during the PM ’s visit. Sources said, officers from Research and Analysis Wing, Central Intelligence, Central Security Force and 4,000 police personnel from various districts in Tamil Nadu are being deployed for security. The PM is to inaugurate the Rs 1.5 crore Ramanujam Higher Mathematics Centre building in Alagappa University on Monday. Security personnel have been inspecting the helipad where PM’s chopper is set to land.
