New Delhi: Almost 150 Indian medical students are stranded in China after their air tickets were declared fake.
Both Emirates and Malaysian airlines refused to recognise the e-tickets when the students tried to board the aircrafts.
The students claimed that they had been sold tickets at very rates and that they had bought these tickets from sub-agents of a travel agent.
They have filed a case with the Beijing police against the travel agent, who is a Bangladeshi national.
The travel agent employs university students as his sub-agents to sell tickets to their fellows. However, the sub-agents claimed that they did not know that the tickets were fake.
The Indian Embassy in Beijing is taking up the matter with the Bangladeshi Embassy and has advised the stranded students to report details of the case to the police.
