KOCHI: The State Government on Wednesday submitted before the Kerala High Court that it had sent a letter to Director-General of Police, Tamil Nadu, to transfer the case related to the assault on two Malayali engineering students inside a moving train near Erode railway station that took place in January. According to the state government, the victims, the accused and witnesses are engineering students from Kerala. The Kerala police took steps to transfer the case, registered by Erode Railway Police, under public interest. The government filed the statement in response to a petition by second accused Tintu Abraham of Uzhavoor seeking to quash the FIR registered in Mulanthuruthy police station.
