BHUBANESWAR: To address examination-related cases like internal assessment marks, non-issuance of mark sheets, faulty mark sheets, non-declaration of results, Utkal University has decided to conduct an examination adalat twice a month. A five-member committee led by PG council chairman Pradip Kumar Sarkar has been appointed by the varsity to organise the adalat. Apart from its own departments, the University provides affiliation to as many as 350 colleges. Students can approach the adalat through requisite application forms and the panel rulings will have to be cleared by the Vice-Chancellor.“The step has been taken to provide respite to both the old and new students who are having to resort to the court of law for examination and certificate-related problems,” said Sarkar. Every year, a large number of former students of the varsity are having to go through various problems and run from one department to another in regard to issuance of original mark sheets. “The process has always been a lengthier one for the students. The adalat will save time, he said. It will start functioning soon.
