A Sub Inspector in Nagpur had demanded bribe to resolve a business issue of a local shopkeeper. A team of ACB officers raided his house and came under attack.

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a Police Sub Inspector in Nagpur fired at a team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) with his service revolver on Wednesday morning.

The accused is identified as Manish Gawande. There is allegation that he had demanded Rs 20,000 from a shopkeeper - who had approached him to resolve a business matter.

Sources said, the Sub Inspector had demanded Rs 20,000 as a bribe to resolve the issue. Annoyed with his approach, the shopkeeper approached the ACB officers.

Based on allegation, a team of ACB officers raided his house when the accused reportedly pulled out his service revolver are fired aiming at the raiding team. The ACB officers luckily survived the attack and the accused was remanded in custody for further interrogation.
