A female doctor has demonstrated that one’s professional responsibilities do not hinder one’s ability to succeed in yet another line of passion. Despite being a specialist in gynaecology, having a demanding career, and managing family and childcare responsibilities, she did not give up on her childhood dream of being in a beauty pageant.
Her unwavering determination to excel in her passion was supported by her husband and other family members, enabling her to achieve her goals. Dr K Chandrika, a gynaecologist from Nirmal district in Telangana, operates a private hospital in the town where she treats patients.
Her husband, Dr Avinash Kasawar, also runs a private clinic there. Despite managing her professional responsibilities and caring for her two children, Dr Chandrika pursued her long-standing dream of participating in beauty pageants. Remarkably, in her first attempt, she not only participated but also won two national titles in these contests.
Dr Chandrika participated in the Mrs World International 2024 beauty pageant organised by Glamour Gurgaon. 140 people from across the country participated in this competition. Chandrika received the Mrs World Peace crown. Along with this, she also received the Mrs Intellectual title.
Dr Chandrika shared that her interest in beauty pageants dates back to her college days, as she told News18. Despite marrying and raising two children, she expressed happiness in pursuing her passion for beauty pageants, supported by her husband, aunt, and uncle. Barkha Nangia, the director and founder of Glamour Gurgaon, mentored her during these pageants, teaching her valuable skills. Chandrika was thrilled to win the Mrs World Peace crown and the Mrs World Intellectual subtitle in her debut participation.
Barkha Nangia, having closely witnessed the challenges faced by married women incepted her own company, Glamour Gurgaon. ‘Women Empowerment’ is not just a fancy buzzword for Barkha, who herself is a working woman, but it is a need of the hour and catering to the same, she is providing married women with opportunities and the right platform to showcase their skills and make a name for themselves.
