The Desire selected for NY Film Fest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘The Desire - Journey of a Woman’, a film by R Sarath, has been selected for the New York International Film Festival. It will be screened there on August 24.  A Hindi feature film, ‘The Desire’, scripted and directed by R Sarath, is the first ever Indo-Chinese collaborative production. It is a sensitive delineation of life in its intense moments. Gautami, an accomplished dancer from India, and Jai Leang, a talented artist, are introduced during her tour of Malaysia. Jai falls for Gautami, but fate separates them. Jai’s search for Gautami takes a turn when his paintings go on exhibition in India. Shilpa Shetty and Chinese actor Xia Yu are in the lead, while Anupam Kher and Jayapradha are also in the cast.
