Union Minister's relative stabbed in Delhi
The victim Ajmal Edappagath is a Supreme Court layer and is related to Union Minister E Ahamed.

New Delhi: A 42-year-old lawyer, a relative of Union Minister E Ahamed, was stabbed by unknown motorcycle-borne assailants who snatched his iPhone in New Delhi, police said on Thursday. The incident took place in KG Marg near Maxmuller Bhavan at around 10:15 PM on Wednesday when the victim Ajmal Edappagath, who hails from Kerala's Kannur, was returning to his flat near Patiala House complex from a gymnasium.

Ajmal, who practices in the Supreme Court, was walking towards his house from the gym near Maxmuller Bhavan when the motorcyclists waylaid him and snatched his iPhone.

When he resisted, police said, they stabbed him and fled the scene.

He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he underwent a surgery, police said, adding doctors have told them that he had lost lot of blood. However, his vital organs were not damaged in the attack.

Mullapally Ramachandran, Minister of State for Home Affairs, and Ahamed, who is Minister of State for Human Resources Development, visited Ajmal at the hospital.
