New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday claimed that the ‘dream team’ of the UPA Government had turned out be a ‘horror team’ with regard to management of the economy, especially the ‘failure’ to check rising prices.
"The latest attempt by the Prime Minister to pass the responsibility of controlling prices on states is not merely an admission of failure, but an abdication of duty," said a resolution passed at a meeting of BJP's office-bearers in the Capital.
The party said prices of wheat, rice, pulses, vegetables and edible oils had increased sharply, and now barely two meals were unaffordable for common man.
The resolution accused the Government of being “soft” towards terror, and said that the terrorists had been emboldened by the dilution of anti-terror laws and the recent bombing of the Samjhauta Express had exposed UPA Government's "Samjhauta with terror".
The BJP slammed the Government for its policies on internal security front, the resolution charging it with lacking "political courage" to execute Mohammad Afzal, saying it wanted to gain political mileage by positioning itself as a Government which was soft on terror.
The past few months had seen the resurgence of terrorism in ULFA-infested areas in Assam, but the government remained clueless, the resolution said.
