Violent man stabs policemen, escapes

KOCHI: Two policemen suffered injuries while attempting to pacify an agitated man at Kadavanthra on Thursday. According to the police, Sujith,36, son of Gopalakrishnan, turned violent following a dispute at home. His mother had called for police help. Senior CPO Nasar and CPO Shibukumar went to the spot to bring the situation under control. But Sujith, who was armed with a knife, attacked the policemen and ran away. While Nasar suffered only minor injuries, Shibukumar was stabbed on his leg. He also sufered a fracture in the arm. The Kadavanthra police said that they are on the lookout for the culprit.
