Mumbai: The CBI has revealed that extradited don Abu Salem's first wife, Samira Jumani, could be privy to many secrets of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
The CBI feels that Samira would have more details of extortion and his involvement in the blasts than Monica Bedi.
However the CBI is no closer to locating Jumani, who is believed to be hiding somewhere in USA, avoiding Indian law.
Salem and Samira had married against Samira's parents' wishes in the early 90?s. After the Mumbai blasts they both escaped to Dubai.
Samira was booked in 1997 for acquiring a fake passport in the name of Sabina Azmi in 1993 from Lucknow, the same time when Salem obtained a passport in the name of Akil Ahmed Azmi.
The CBI has issued a red corner notice against Samira in whose name Salem had made several real estate investments.
The notice is in lieu of the passport forgery case registered against her.
However, there is no evidence yet that can point at Samira's involvement in the serial bomb blasts.
Abu Salem and Samira have an eight-year-old son who stays with his mother.
The couple had allegedly sought a divorce after Salem met Monica Bedi in the late 90?s.
