But the ‘Queen’ understands that strength comes from within, which is why she has a dedicated her workout routine to Pilates along with her instructor Namrata Purohit. The trainer regularly posts about her workout sessions with Kangana and can be seen appreciating her work ethic, calling her a ‘Pilates Girl’.

The strength building exercise was introduced by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates who formulated it for the purpose of rehabilitation. It is based on six principles which are concentration, center, control, precision, flow, breathing, and helps improve flexibility, strength, and body awareness through controlled movements.

Below are some basic tips for beginners so that they’re better prepared to train –

Begin with small goals. Don’t exert your body too much during the initial days.

Focus on breathing, don’t choose music with fast beats since it can alter your breathing rhythm.

Opt for a thicker and softer mat than a regular yoga mat.

Working out three days a week can be good to start with. You can fine tune the frequency according to your stamina.

Keep a check on your diet as well, ask your instructor for the best nutritional plan.
