Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan was seen comforting a senior journalist who got emotional at the launch of ‘Papa Kehte Hain’ song from the film ‘Srikanth’, which features Rajkummar Rao in the role of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The song gives a glimpse into Srikanth’s life journey, from his birth to becoming a successful entrepreneur.

During the event, a visually impaired band took the stage to perform the new rendition of the iconic track from Aamir Khan’s 1988 movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The performance moved everyone to tears. In a video, shared by Bollywood paparazzo Viral Bhayani on his Instagram account, a senior journalist and film trade expert, named Komal Nahta, broke down in tears as he spoke about the film.

“This is a rare moment people. Komal rarely gets emotional,” Aamir said from the stage, before adding, “Komal, ek dafa maine shuru kiya na bandh nahi hota hai, sambhaal ke (Once I start (crying), I won’t stop. So, be careful).”

The emotional reporter said, “I cry a lot in films but for an event to move somebody, it’s not a joke. I think you all have a blockbuster in hand. If an event based around a film can make somebody cry so much, I can’t imagine what the film will be. Without seeing the film, I have just texted to one of my exhibitor friends, saying that book Srikanth everywhere. Congratulations! I think it’s a fantastic event and the film is going to be equally fantastic.”

The trailer of ‘Srikanth: Aa Raha Hai Sabki Aankhein Kholne’ has been met with a lot of praise from the film industry. Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor, among others, gave a shout out to Rajkummar for his tremendous performance. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Rajkummar revealed that their words of appreciation has given him ‘a lot of confidence’.

“When something hits the right notes, everybody comes together. But otherwise, liking a film is very subjective. I might like something that another person didn’t and vice-versa. Once in a while, however, a film comes out that meets with unanimous love from everyone in the industry,” the actor said.
