Malayalam actor Sreenath Bhasi is embroiled in a controversy after a video showing him using derogatory language surfaced online. He was reportedly in the middle of a performance when the video was recorded.

The reports state further that he was giving a performance of the song Jaada, from the film Aavesham. As the video gained momentum online, the netizens started to criticise the actor for his words in the comments section.

More reports state that while Sreenath Bhasi used offensive language, the crowd was heard cheering. So, the netizens also targeted the people present at the show for their supportive stance.

Users expressed their anger and displeasure through targeting the actor’s career. A user wrote, “One of the most overrated stars of the new generation, with the worst character and film career in the Malayalam industry.” A second user stated, “He should be arrested.” The actor is yet to give a response to the backlash.

Back in 2022, Sreenath Bhasi was involved in a similar incident for using abusive language towards a female journalist. The incident occurred during a promotional event for his film Chattambi, which led to his arrest by the Kerala police for interrogation. The Manjummel Boys actor then confessed to his wrongful behaviour and issued an apology to the interviewer.

The actor gave his vocals to the song Jaada, from the Malayalam superhit Aavesham. The film stars Fahadh Faasil as the lead along with Mithun Jai Shankar, Hipzster, Roshan Shanavas and Sajin Gopu. It is directed by Jithu Madhavan and, produced by Anwar Rasheed and Nazriya Nazim, under the banners of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and Fahadh Faasil and Friends.

Sreenath Bhasi’s last appearance was in the blockbuster hit Manjummel Boys, directed and written by Chidambaram. The cast includes names like Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr, Deepak Parambol and Abhiram, among many others. Produced by Parava Films, it became the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema after its release in February.
