The much-awaited Joker sequel is ready for its grand premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival 2024 this week. A sequel to the 2019 film, Joker: Folie á Deux, is getting intense and darker as it delves into the maniacal world of Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn. Makers have dropped a brand new teaser for Joker 2, declaring that “he is not sick.”
The 30-second teaser shows Joaquin Phoenix’s character, Arthur Fleck, struggling with voices in his head while being transported in a police van. The voices seem to be actual dialogues from various characters in the film, who label Joker as “sick, delusional, monster, and disturbing.”
The only voice that speaks up for Arthur is of Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, who declares, “He’s not sick; he’s perfect. He’s Joker.”

Amid his mental turbulence, one can see Arthur going through an array of emotions, from a maniac laughing fit to calm and straight-faced.
Joker 2 Premiere
Joker: Folie á Deux will premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 4, 2024. The original Joker film also premiered at the festival, outshining many auteurs, and won the Golden Lion.
Directed by Todd Phillips, it will follow the events of 2019’s Academy Award-winning Joker. While Joaquin Phoenix is ready to reprise his role as Arthur Fleck, aka Joker, Lady Gaga is a fresh entry as Harley Quinn. Others like Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz will also play significant roles.
Joker 2 will show Arthur inside the Arkham Asylum, awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. Still struggling to deal with his dual identity, he happens to stumble upon true love, only to find the “music” inside of him. The movie is ready to hit theatres on October 4, 2024. Viewers in India can catch on to the sequel two days earlier as Warner Bros. India announced the film’s release on October 2.
