Akshay Kumar is likely to team up with Siddharth Anand soon. If a recent report is to be believed, the Khiladi star will soon be seen in Siddharth Anand’s action movie, which will be directed by Milan Luthria. Reportedly, Akshay and Siddharth have been discussing a potential collaboration for a long time and have now finally decided to go ahead with this action project.
“Siddharth has got together the director-writer duo of Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora to develop an action film set against the zone of a vigilante film. When the script was locked, the trio unanimously felt that Akshay Kumar is the best fit for the film and on hearing the script, Akshay also felt that this is the right film for him to associate with at this point of time,” a source cited by Pinkvilla claimed.
The report further claimed that Akshay is ‘excited’ about the project and is ready to take up the new challenges the film will offer. “Akshay loves the action space and is always up for challenges. The Milan Luthria directorial will see him in a never seen before avatar, that does justice to the legacy created by him in action. Sid and Mamta are excited for this new collaboration with the Khiladi,” the insider added.
This comes at a time when Akshay Kumar’s recently released Khel Khel Mein has been struggling at the box office. Released on August 15, the film clashed with Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 and John Abraham Vedaa. However, Khel Khel Mein has not even crossed Rs 20 crore mark at the box office as of now.
Meanwhile, Akshay will soon also be seen in Sky Force. This film will also mark the debut of the actor Veer Pahariya who is the maternal grandson of the former chief minister of Maharashtra, Sushil Kumar Shinde. It is produced by Amar Kaushik, Keval Shah and Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Apart from Veer Pahariya and Akshay Kumar, actress Nirmat Kaur will also be playing a prominent role in the movie. Its release date has not been announced as of now.
