SAMBALPUR: Sambalpur Additional District Judge (Fast Track) Ashok Kumar Panda on Monday convicted four youths for their involvement in the gang-rape of the MCA student of Sambalpur University on the Budharaja Hilltop on February 23, 2008.They have been identified as Sachin Sharma, Balram Adjued, Sumit Pattnaik and Abhinash Soren, all of Budharaja area here.The Judge, who had reserved his judgment on the four till Monday, sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment besides a fine of ` 5,000. In case of a default in payment of fine, they have to undergo another two months of imprisonment.The main accused Sachin has also been charged under Section 366 of the IPC and awarded an additional three years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000. The police, however, are yet to apprehend the fifth culprit identified as Kartika Sahu, a resident of Ramgarh slum.Earlier on Friday, the Judge had sentenced Kapilas Senapati, Md. Anwar, Sayed Munir and Abdul Arman besides one Sanjit Behera for their involvement in the gang-rape of the victim at Deer Park area of Sambalpur town on February 24.
