Bollywood has been going ga-ga over Neeraj Ghaywan’s directorial debut ‘Masaan’ ever since it’s released in India. Celebrities including Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkumar Hirani, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi have loved ‘Masaan’ and given it glowing reviews.
The legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also saw ‘Masaan’ and loved the film so much that he sent a congratulatory message to the lead actor Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal (senior action director) praising Vicky’s performance. He told the senior Kaushal that it is hard for him to believe that this is Vicky's first film and called him a seasoned performer. Bachchan also praised the story and the direction.
An elated Vicky later said, "I am just so humbled by this gesture. Mr Bachchan has always been an inspiration and this message is the biggest motivation I have ever got. And I can easily say this has been my biggest reward so far...something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
Ghaywan’s ‘Masaan’ won two prestigious awards at the Cannes film festival this year. The film features Richa Chadha, Sanjai Mishra and Shweta Triptahi along with Vicky Kaushal.
