Lyricist Kausar Munir has joined the upcoming musical Tanvi the Great, the film’s director Anupam Kher announced on Tuesday.

The actor-filmmaker announced this on X on Tuesday and thanked Kausar for penning the lyrics for the songs composed by Oscar winner M.M. Keeravani for his directorial debut.

“ANNOUNCEMENT: Happy, Delighted and Honoured to present Ms. Kausar Munir, the hugely talented lyricist of my directorial film #TanviTheGreat. She has added magic to the songs composed by #MMKeeravani sir with her soulful lyrics”, he tweeted.

Anupam thanked Kausar for creating the songs for Tanvi the Great. “I am fortunate to have you in our team of remarkable technicians. Jai Ho!”, he also wrote.

“I am honoured to be a part of the Tanvi the Great family led by our amazing director Anupam Kher,” Kausar said in a statement.

“Tanvi the Great is that rare film which combines the opportunity to convey a wonderful message. Thank you, Anupam Sir, for the most fun, warm, most memorable music-making experience with you and the maestro M.M Keeravani Sir,” she added. Tanvi the Great was produced by Anupam Kher Studios and was released on March 8. The release date of the film is yet to be announced by the makers.

Munir started her career in television by writing for the television serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. After that, she wrote Falak Tak for the film Tashan, followed by songs for Ishaqzaade, Ek Tha Tiger, Dhoom 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Dear Zindagi. She has also worked as a language consultant for the film English Vinglish. She has written several song lyrics for Bollywood films and also works as a screenwriter.

The official anthem for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, “Live the game!, Love the game!”, was written by Munir with music by Amit Trivedi and vocals by Sharvi Yadav and Anand Bhaskar. She uses “Hinglish” at intervals, with the song mostly being in English.
