Mahima Chaudhary is a popular face in the Indian film industry. She has worked in several well-known films that have garnered a huge audience attraction. The actress appeared in films like Pardes and Deewane alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. Her acting career almost ended after she met with a tragic incident that changed her life. Mahima was born on September 13, 1973, in the town of Darjeeling, West Bengal. She completed her high school studies at a local school in her area. In the year 1990, Mahima decided to leave her studies and pursue a career in the field of acting. During her earlier days in the industry, she appeared in multiple advertisements alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She also worked as a video jockey before starting her film career.

After appearing in thousands of auditions, Mahima Chaudhary was selected for the film Pardes alongside Amrish Puri and Alok Nath. The film performed massively at the box office and she was highly praised for her performance. Mahima also won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her acting. After this, she delivered numerous hits like Dil Kya Kare, Deewane, Dhadkan and Lajja. When she was at the peak of her career, Mahima met with an accident that changed her life.

In 1999, while she was shooting for Dil Kya Kare starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol, she met with a fatal accident. Her car rammed into a truck in Bangalore. In an old interview, Mahima said that at one point she thought that she would lose her life. She also mentioned after surgery, the doctors recovered around 67 glass pieces from her face. She said, “I thought I was dying, and at that point, no one even helped me get to the hospital. It was only after reaching the hospital, much later, when my mother came, Ajay came. I got up and saw my face in the mirror.” She said how injuries on her face affected her career from there onwards.

In 2022, Mahima revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and later she recovered after years of treatment. In an interview with actor Anupam Kher, she spoke about her battle with cancer. She will be seen in the film Emergency, the first directorial work of Kangana Ranaut. It was scheduled to hit the theatres on September 6, but has now got postponed.
